Refund Policy

In effect since 17 October 2026 · Last updated 17 October 2026

Policy summary

  • No general refunds, including refunds that were approved before.
  • Six groups are still refunded, from RWID's net profit and not by selling assets: VIP students 1 to 100 (about Rp2.5 billion), CDBC, BYOS, Young Founder Indonesia, the first 30 students of the RWID campus, and members who registered in the last two months before mentoring stopped.
  • Lifetime mentoring stays valid where your package includes it; check remoteworker.id for updates on how to join.
  • Taking legal action is your right, and we respect it.
  • Posts with a challenging tone were deliberate; we explain the strategy behind them below.

We are writing this openly because you deserve to know how we think and what we will do.

Where this began

I am not an ordinary businessman. I enjoy giving to the people around this business: students, mentors and investors. One dawn, after the congregational Fajr prayer, a strong wish came to me: to return all of the students' registration fees.

Behind that wish is a story from about three years ago. VIP mentoring, one of RWID's schemes, cost Rp25 million, and for someone like me who loves to give, that price weighed on me. One day a member signed up for VIP by trading in his PCX motorbike, and I rode that motorbike myself. That was when I truly understood how much people were willing to sacrifice to join RWID.

So I began to plan how to return the VIP fees of students number 1 to 100. It is a large sum, about Rp2.5 billion, and the funds come from RWID's net profit. This commitment still stands, and it is one of the reasons I spoke about returning the money in the podcast below.

It is not as simple as handing money back. The plan was to use those fees to build new businesses outside RWID, including small businesses we would fund, and to return their profits to students step by step. Who receives it has to make sense: returning money to someone who has already built a remote career, for example, would not. The intention was sincere; its form still had to be worked out.

The plan came first, and this recording is the proof

This podcast episode was published on 10 January 2024. The accusations began around July 2025, about eighteen months later, and the refund requests came after that. In this recording I was already sharing my thoughts about wanting to return the money to students.

  1. 10 January 2024The plan to return the money is shared in this podcast.
  2. 12 February 2024The VIP refund record is started, as a public Google Sheet.
  3. Around July 2025The accusations begin.
  4. After thatRefund requests arrive.

What changed

When the accusations of fraud arrived in force, I did not say much. When friends asked for refunds, I agreed gladly, because RWID was strong at the time and that was my wish. Then our program collapsed: we could not make sales for about a year, and only now are we starting again.

That is when I understood something. My wish to return the money was born when RWID was strong. Today the situation is different, and honoring every refund claim would harm RWID and, in the end, every member who is still learning. So I changed my stance: still generous at heart, but running the business with firm calculation.

If this looks like a marketing stunt to you, this is how I see it.

Life in this world is temporary; the hereafter lasts forever. Status, wealth and position are only a mirage: in truth everything belongs to Allah. We are only given the right to use it, and how we share its benefits is our test.

With that understanding (ma'rifat), I work in earnest on every plan to return registration fees, plans that began long before anyone demanded a refund.

The accusations of fraud that began around July 2025 are, to me, simply a test of how sincere that intention is. The test now is to work hard to make it real, with patience and prayer.

Our policy

  1. No refunds. Registration fees are not refunded. Refund requests that I approved in the past can no longer be continued either, because RWID is running again and being developed.
  2. Lifetime mentoring. RWID memberships differ from one another. Where your membership includes lifetime mentoring, it stays valid. How to join cannot be announced yet; please check remoteworker.id for updates. We keep developing the program, and we have a separate arrangement with our mentors.
  3. Your choice as a member. Continue learning with RWID until you work remotely or simply grow more skilled, or choose not to use the learning benefits.
  4. Exceptions we will return. These we will return:
    1. VIP mentoring fees of students number 1 to 100, about Rp2.5 billion in total. The funds come from RWID's net profit, so this commitment grows with RWID's business. See the progress
    2. CDBC (Coding Bareng CEO).
    3. BYOS (Build Your Own Startup): one mentee whose company I helped build, which collapsed before it could get going.
    4. Young Founder Indonesia: one parent of a prospective young founder, where the program also collapsed before it started.
    5. The first 30 students of the RWID campus.
    6. Members who registered in the last two months before mentoring stopped.

Items 1 to 5 were promised before the accusations began. Item 6 is an obligation I missed in the first version of this policy, and I correct it here.

All returns in this category are made not by selling assets, but through RWID's return. That keeps this obligation with RWID as a business rather than with me personally, and it is a good intention that I protect with the realism of the business world.

VIP refund progress

This is not only an intention. The VIP refunds have started, in stages, and every transfer is recorded in a public sheet.

The sheet was created on 12 February 2024, a month after the podcast and about seventeen months before the accusations began in July 2025.

Going forward, every member who is entitled will be able to follow their own refund, stage by stage, in the member dashboard.

Contact

At this time RWID has no contact channel, by choice. After a case of cyberbullying I deliberately cannot be reached on WhatsApp. It is intentional, and unfortunate.

Updates are published on remoteworker.id and on this page. If you belong to one of the groups we will return, keep your proof of registration and payment; how to submit it will be announced here.

If you still wish to take legal action

We respect everyone's right to do so. If you cannot accept this decision, I will gladly accompany you to the Yogyakarta Regional Police (Polda DIY) to file your claim. Please file it; I will accept it.

We offer this once. On 17 January 2026 we did the same, and none of the people making claims came. Those who did come, some from far away, were people who support us.

P.S. The strategy behind the challenging tone

Some of our posts had a challenging tone. That tone was deliberate, and here we explain the strategy behind it.

Last year someone broke into the RWID website, which was built on Next.js and Supabase, and deleted its database. The RWID platform that I had vibe-coded with great effort over two months was destroyed.

That is why I went on to build Ecosphere and its building blocks (LXS): a platform made to be attacked and to hold. The challenging posts were meant to draw those people out to test it, so that its strength is proven in the open, not only claimed.

The proof is public:

  1. Attack #1: an automated scanner against remoteworker.id
  2. Attack #2: 1,097 IP addresses against one homepage
  3. Attack #3: the third wave, and why each fight got shorter
  4. Ready for a coordinated attack: how the platform was prepared
  5. Security hardening an Eco estate end to end
  6. Moving a Next.js + Supabase app onto Ecosphere
  7. Moving a Lovable frontend onto Ecosphere
